Where To Apply For A Passport
The thought of applying for a passport intimidates many people because they've never gone through the process before and don't quite know what to expect.
The great news is, I've gone through the application before and I'm going to show you what you need to do in order to get that passport in your possession so you can start traveling the world.
You typically have two options for obtaining your passport:
The first being to download the application form and mail it in.
The second option is to visit a passport office or authorized acceptance facility.
The Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs, Office of Passport Services/Customer Service designates many post offices, clerks of court, public libraries and other state, county, township, and municipal government offices to accept passport applications on its behalf.
You can search for a location near you by visiting the Department of State's location finder here.
If it is your first time applying for a United States passport, you will be required to file Form DS-11, Application for a United States passport.
The form must be submitted with the required fee and other supporting documents. After all, documents have been submitted to any passport center near you. It will then be processed.
